Equipment Overview

A combined air pollution control system that simultaneously removes hazardous gases and particulate matter through a wet scrubbing process.
A Wet Scrubber is a wet-type air pollution control system that simultaneously removes hazardous gases (acidic, alkaline, and water-soluble gases)
and particulate matter by bringing contaminated air into direct contact with a scrubbing liquid.
It is particularly effective in treating water-soluble hazardous gases and high-temperature, high-humidity exhaust gases that are difficult to handle with dry-type air pollution control systems.
As a result, it is widely applied in industries handling hazardous chemicals,
including chemical processing, semiconductor manufacturing, electroplating, and pharmaceuticals.
Based on a detailed analysis of the target pollutants, WINTECH customizes every aspect of the system—including the selection of the scrubbing liquid, packing media specifications, and nozzle arrangement—to deliver maximum treatment efficiency.

STEP 01

Contaminated Air Inlet

Contaminated air containing hazardous gases
and particulate matter enters the scrubber
through the bottom or side inlet.
The inlet velocity and flow direction are optimized to maximize contact efficiency with the scrubbing liquid.
STEP 02

Passage Through the Packing Bed & Contact with Scrubbing Liquid

As the contaminated air passes through the packing layer filled with Pall Rings,
it comes into direct contact with the scrubbing liquid
(e.g., an NaOH solution for
acidic gases or a diluted H₂SO₄ solution for alkaline gases).
The packing media maximize the contact area
between contaminants and the scrubbing liquid,
thereby enhancing removal efficiency.
STEP 03

Gas-Liquid Separation (Mist Eliminator)

The gas stream passes through a mist eliminator (demister pad),
which separates gas from liquid by removing fine droplets (mist)
generated during the scrubbing process, preventing them
from being carried over with the cleaned air.

Clean Air Discharge & Scrubbing Liquid Recirculation

The cleaned air, with hazardous components removed, is discharged through the top outlet to the stack.
The used scrubbing liquid is collected in the sump tank and recirculated
by a circulation pump, while its concentration is
automatically maintained by a pH control system.
